Always Take Your Rifle is a collection of short stories and essays that I wrote over the course of the last twenty-five years or so. Today's blog entry is from the title chapter of that book, and describes why indeed you should always take your rifle.
Today's entry is another chapter from Daily Bread for Deer Hunters: Still Hunting for the Heart of God. This chapter reflects on some of the ways that we try to test God's faithfulness to us. Ultimately, we must realize that He is always faithful to us; it's us who need to remain faithful to Him.
I am currently hard at work on two new books. This blog entry is a chapter from one of them; my upcoming devotional "Daily Bread for Deer Hunters - Still Hunting for the Heart of God." This book will differ from last year's Deer Hunter's Devotional in that there will be sixty-six chapters; one for each book of the Bible. Using a verse from each book as a guide, my writings "follow the Wild Goose" (as the ancient Celtics referred to the Holy Spirit) as He leads me into a discussion of the outdoors. This sample chapter is the one from the Old Testament book of Joshua.
Today's blog entry is slightly expanded and revised chapter from Deer Hunter's Devotional.
This is a chapter from my book Deer Hunter's Devotional: Hunting for the Heart of God. I'll be posting more chapters from the book as time goes on, but with August fast approaching, I thought I'd throw this one out there.
An introduction to who I am and what you can expect from my writings on this site.
